Biggin Hill Airport
This year promises to be an interesting time for the development of Biggin Hill Airport. The Coalition Government’s new Aviation Policy Framework is scheduled for consultation in the summer, while in parallel the Bromley Core Strategy is being prepared within which the airport will be proposing how the area can be developed as a Strategic Outer London Development Centre in accordance with Mayor Johnson’s London plan.
The airport has won planning consent for a 76-room hotel and is keen to progress this with a strategic partner as developer.
In conjunction with landowners of former MoD land adjoining the airport, the appointment of Jones Lang LaSalle has been made to advise on development options for the expansive estates and vacant land that lies fallow. The intention is to produce a comprehensive menu of facilities and opportunities that will promote and encourage inward investment, leading to job creation.
